Prof. Mogus D Mochena at Florida A&M University has recently received NSF grant to conduct research on plasmonic diluted magnetic semiconducting oxide nanocrystals. The grant will support a PhD student for three years with a stipend of $25,000 plus health benefits. A student with MS degree in physics and some computing background is highly desired. A rising graduate student with some computational background is also encouraged to apply. The applicant must have US citizenship or permanent residency. The Nanoscience Department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro seeks to hire a tenure track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department of Nanoscience is a dynamic and transdisciplinary research department located in the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, which is a collaboration of North Carolina A&T State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The Department of Nanoscience has two graduate degree programs, including a Professional MS and a Ph.D. in Nanoscience. Of particular interest are candidates with demonstrated expertise in research in the following areas of Physical Nanoscience: Low-Dimensional Nanomaterials; 2D Layered Nanomaterials; Nanodevices; NanoEnergy; Molecular Electronics and Bioelectronics. New faculty will be expected to build and maintain a strong externally-supported research program, teach effectively at the graduate level, interact with other researchers in the Joint School of Nanoscience & Nanoengineering, convey promising opportunities for collaborative research network, and serve the Department and the UNCG as appropriate. |
