EPSNA awarded top 9 physics students from universities all over Ethiopia based on the students academic achievement. The Ethiopian Physical Society in Ethiopia (EPS) provided the list of over 40 top students and EPSNA used its own metric to select the top 9. The awards includes a certificate and monetary award to encourage the students and help them continue their passion. EPSNA would like to thank EPS for providing the student list and working together in many areas. EPSNA executive committee also would like to thank members for their yearly membership fee which made the monetary award possible.
The testimonies of the 2018 EPSNA Award recipients are attached (testimonies have been edited slightly for clarity). The renowned Ethiopian professor, Dr. Mulugeta Bekele, has been recently featured on Ethiopian Television about his childhood, career path, political involvement and physics. Professor Bekele has taught several EPSNA members who are now making big impacts and scientific contributions in academia, industry and national labs. Please click here for the full interview.
